Leave programs are available If you need time away from work: 

  • Because of a health condition 
  • To care for a sick or injured family member 
  • For personal reasons 

Sedgwick will take your claim information and provide you with the appropriate paperwork based on your claim. 

Family and Medical Leave

Employees receive up to 12 weeks of unpaid job-protected leave for certain family and medical reasons under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993. You are eligible if you have worked for at least one year and for 1,250 hours over a period of 12 months.

Family Medical Leave (FML) runs concurrently with any other paid or unpaid leave (short-term disability, workers’ compensation, Paid Time Off, Paid Annual Leave, Paid Days Leave.

Paid Parental Leave*

Up to four weeks of paid leave is provided to regular full-time and regular part-time employees who are welcoming a new child into their family through birth or adoption. You must have completed a minimum of one continuous year of employment immediately prior to the birth or adoption placement.

This includes paid time off for male and female parents and is inclusive of birth recovery for birth parents and/or bonding time for non-birth parents. Manager approval is required.
